How to train your cat so you can call him/her by name

1. Choose a name that suitable for your cat
First, you need a name for your cat. You can give a name with a word or two as long as it is easy for you to say it. You can also choose your name in Bahasa, Arabic, English, Korean, etc
The most important thing is the name is containing good wishes and is easy to call. It is because a good name is a good wish. So, when the name is good, we have a good wish so the cat can behave the way his/her name is.
2. Tell your family your cat’s name
When you have chosen your cat’s name, the next step is telling your family or friend that is often meet your cat. Tell them your cat has a name, when your cat is called often, your cat can easily remember his/her name.
3. Train as early as possible while the cat is still young
When you want to train your cat, do it when it’s still young or early age. At this age, your cat is still easy to teach. It will be different if you teach a mature cat, they are harder to teach compared to young cats.
4. Give a reward
You have to give your cat a reward when you call him/her, it will make your training easier. Almost every pet animal can be tamed by this method. The reward can be a snack or your cat’s favorite food. So, every time you call your cat, and the cat comes to you, you have to give him/her a reward whether it is a biscuit or cat food. The point is, the reward must be your cat’s favorite food.
5. Get into the habit of speaking positively and slipping his/her name
What is meant by getting used to saying positive words by slipping his/her name is when you call your cat for food, talk with him/her in a positive with her/his name slipped.
For example, let’s say your cat’s name is Baret “hey Baret, eat it up, so you can grow faster” (while petting Baret). Or it could be “Baret here! Let’s have lunch” (while calling).
So more or less it means like that. You should insert his name in positive sentences, not negative ones. Because this is still in the early stages.
Negative sentences that are best avoided are usually in the form of prohibitions/scolding. For example, “Baret, you’re so naughty, being a cat!” (while yelling and scolding).

6. Do it repeatedly
The key to successful training is consistency and repetition, this is also applicable when you are training your cat to be called by name.
Therefore, do this chat for a few days or a few weeks, until you see a cat response when you say its name. Well later if it looks like there is a response, just enter the next stage
7. Call his/her name and give the reward
Call his/her name and when your cat comes to you give him/her a reward.
For example, if his name is Baret, then just call him “Baret”. Then when he comes to you and meows, immediately give him food.
Or alternatively, give a small portion of regular food. The rest is for a reward when the cat is called and wants to come.
This is done to prevent the cat from getting overweight from being rewarded too much.
8. Start giving fewer reward
The next step is to start reducing the rewards. So, if you’re training her 10x a day, try giving her 8 exercises as usual, and 2 exercises without rewards.
Do this until it’s about 5 exercises without rewards and 5 exercises with rewards.
The purpose of how to train cats to be called with this technique is to reduce the dependence on cats who want to be called if there is only a reward.
In addition, this method is also done so that the cat does not cranky. Because if later it is not given a gift at all, it is feared that the cat will be cranky and not want to approach again.
So those are steps on how to train your cat so you can call him/her, easy right?
