The short-legged cat species is one of the most favored by the world’s cat lovers. Because of its small body shape, it makes it look cuter. But unfortunately, not all cats have this physique, there are only a few races that have short legs in all their breeds.

Short Leg Cat Species
There are not many cats that have short legs, so finding one is quite difficult. Even if there is usually a fairly expensive rate. Here are some common types of short-legged cats in the world:
Munchkin Cat
Munchkin cats a type of short-legged cat have a fat body shape and almost no neck, making them look very round. But unlike humans, round cats are actually favored by cats over, so this type of cat is quite marketable.
Even though the price of being able to bring 1 Muchkin cat is not cheap, this in no way reduces one’s interest in buying it.
Napoleon Sat
Napoleon cats are the result of a cross between the Persian and Munchkin breeds, resulting in a short-legged cat that has a dense feline coat.
Even this cat also still inherits Persian genes on its face, so it looks quite graceful.
The reason why named Napoleon is that this cat has a short body shape and tends to be small, this is certainly not in accordance with Persian cats in general.
Well, then it is named Napoleon. Because the famous General Napoleon Bonaparte, was also short-bodied when compared to other white races in the past.
So that’s how giving the name Napoleon, is based on the same short body.
Bambino Cat
Bambino cats are one of the most popular products of genetic modification. Because it successfully crossed between Sphynx cats and Munchkin cats.
In fact, Sphynx cats include cat breeds that are quite difficult to cross with other breeds.
The result of the cross between these 2 breeds that have quite a difference, resulting in a Bambino-type cat.
That is a breed of cats that do not have fur like Sphynx cats, but are short height like Munchkin cats.
Because the Bambino cat’s legs do follow the mother of the short-legged Munchkin.
Because this cat comes from both cat breeds that have a high level of interaction with humans, the Bambino is also easily familiar with the owner/human.
Dwelf Cat
Dwelf cats that look as hairless as Sphynxes are in actuality descendants of the breed. It’s just cross-bred.
Well, if all this time you know that crossbreeding only exists in two types, then the Dwelf cat is a cross between three different breeds.
That is the Sphynx cat breed with Munchkin, then the offspring is crossed back with American Curl.
That’s why it formed a cat that has the uniqueness that comes from 3 different breeds.
The unique thing about Dwelf Cats are:
- Born without fur like a Sphynx cat
- Short-legged like a Munchkin
- Has curved ears like the American Curl
So this cat is quite rare because it takes several crossbreeds to produce it.
No wonder the price of this cat is also quite expensive for people who have a wallet like mine.

Skookum Cat
Skookum cats have unique physical characteristics because as a type of short-legged cat, it actually has curly hair.
And apparently, this is because the Skookum Cat is the result of a cross between the Munchkin and LaPerm Cats. This curly fur is produced from the LaPerm parent.
Skookum is known as a smart, playful, and quite a friendly cat with humans. In fact, he is also among those favored by cats over, especially since the weight of this cat is also light, only reaching one to three kilograms.
Lambkin Cat
This type of cat is a newly discovered one because it comes from the crossing of the Munchin and Selkirk Rex breeds.
The Munchkin breed gives the short leg gene impact on some of its offspring, while the Slekirk Rex breed will give its offspring curly fur genes.
So a new breed of cat is obtained that has short legs, but its fur is very curly and similar to the hair of humans.
This breed of cat does not have much, because not many humans can produce it. So the circulation is still quite limited.
Kinkalow Cat
The Kinkalow cat is a cat breed resulting from a cross between the Munchkin breed and the American Curl, resulting in a short-legged cat breed with folded ears.
This species is quite unique, because as a child, the ears look normal, it’s just that the older it gets, the more it folds, and the peak looks like a funnel.
