Mixdom cats are a breed of cat produced by crossbreeding between a domestic cat mother and any breed of cat mother. However, it is best to use good breeds as males and domestic females.
The term Mixdom itself stands for Domestic Mix, which means domestic mix. A mixture of purebred parents with domestic parents
Mixdom Cat Breed
Mixdom cats as a result of crossing between domestic cats and other breed cats can actually have many types. Because it depends on how many purebred cats are crossed with domestic cats.
So here are some types of Mixdom Cats that are common in the world:
1. Munchkin Mixdom
This type of cat is the result of a cross between the Munchkin and Domestic Breeds. This Mixdom breed is relatively popular among other mixes. Because the resulting breed is quite good.
Usually, they will have short legs and belong to a group of animals that are tiny because their bodies are relatively small. But the color of their fur is usually quite beautiful.
2. Persian Mixdom
Next is the type resulting from a cross between Persian and Domestic. This type of cat usually has a rather dominant Persian characteristic.
So in the market, it is still quite salable, but with a percentage of about 50% of the original Persian value.
3. Tuxedo Mixdome
Tuxedo Mixdome is also the result of a cross with a Dom cat. The characteristic of this type of cat is that usually has only 2 fur colors, which are black and white.
But even so, Tuxedo is quite popular among cat lovers, because maintenance and care can be quite easy.

4. Tabby Mixdome Cat
This mixed Tabby cat has the characteristic of striped fur with a pattern of fur colors that look scattered.
The colors often owned by this cat are grayish, brownish, or orange. Then on the legs and chest, there are usually white marks.
5. Maine Coon Cat Mix
Maine Coon is famous as a long-haired cat, so its breeding will also have long fur characteristics.
The mixture of this cat is quite attractive to cat lovers because the price is quite far from the original. So it’s more budget-friendly.
6. Mixed Siamese Cat
Siamese cats are quite a lot of enthusiasts in Indonesia, and this is also why there are breeds of Siamese and domestic cats. This mixed cat inherits two genes that are quite different from both parents.
Therefore, its physical characteristics and traits are truly inherited by both parent breeds.
7. Himalayan Mixdom
The next breed that is no less popular is Himalaya & Dom. In fact, the two breed quite often, so even in the market, the stock is not short.
Just like other types, Himalayan Mixdom has a selling value that is quite far from the original, at least only about 50 percent.
Characteristics of Mixdom Cats
Mixdom cats produced from cross-breeding, have traits that are almost the same as their parents. But in general, different races can be seen through several parts of the body.
Here are the characteristics of mixed dom cats:

Tail Hair Similar to Angora and Persian
Quoted from various sources, Mixdom cat tail hair tends to be similar to Angora and Persia. Because most of the cats crossed with domestic are both breeds.
No wonder most of the mix dom breeds in circulation also look like Persians and Angoras.
Neck Looks Short
The next feature you can see on the neck is that their necks look very short and some of them even almost look like they don’t have a neck at all.
However, cases of super short necks are quite rare, the most common is that it just looks short. Not to the point of being severe.
Oval Face
As a result of a crossbreed of two quite different ancestral races, Mixdoms tend to have oval faces. Moreover, they are also generally descended from Persians and Angoras.
These two breeds are indeed the most popular breeds in Indonesia to be kept, so it is not uncommon when going out, they marry village cats.
As a result, this kind of breed was born.
Shorthair
Most of the results of this crossbreeding are to produce offspring of short to medium-fur cats. This means that although it is somewhat long, it is not as long as the Maine Coon.
So indeed the majority of Mixdom, especially in Indonesia is included in the Shorthair Cat.
